Julia Ziganshina is a talented singer who performs old and contemporary Russian romances, as well as retro-style music and bard songs.
She was born in Kazan on 13 August 1970. Trained as a cellist, she has also studied guitar and vocals for several years. She achieved her first major success in the spring of 1998 when she won the «Romansiada-98», the All-Russian Competition of Young Performers of Russian Romance. Nowadays, this competition is international.
Since then, Julia has performed in various concert halls across Russia, including the State Kremlin Palace, the State Concert Hall Russia, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Pillar Hall at the House of the Unions, the Moscow International Performing Arts Center, the Arkady Raikin Variety Theatre, etc. Julia Ziganshina has also performed successfully in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Israel, Poland, and the USA.
According to the Russian newspaper Trud, the young singer’s main advantage is her ability to deliver a wide range of emotions that appeal to the listener. Her singing is full of deep, strong passion, endless tenderness and a bright temperament.
In Kazan, Julia Ziganshina organised the salon known as Kazansky Romance where the best romance singers from Kazan, Moscow, and other cities can perform. The Sibirsky Trakt studio has released twelve of her albums, three of which were released in Poland.
Her repertoire includes a wide variety of programmes featuring romances, retro songs, European songs from the 16th-18th centuries, and contemporary bard songs.
